Enjoy a glimpse into the nursery which is a part of the aquarium. This is the area for breeding miniature fish and is part of their efforts to conserve the breeds that inhabit the Pacific Ocean. From sharks to coral reefs this is an experience that your children will not soon forget. They will be talking about seahorses for a long time.

If you are vacationing at the right time of year, your kids will love to be at the Birch Aquarium San Diego to see the whale migration. They travel to the Baja California, Mexico area where they were born to the Arctic. The view might include a newborn baby whale or two in the migration that takes place. This will be a terrific story for the kids to tell their friends when they get back home.

From June to October the full moon walk is in full swing. Walk the 1,090 foot pier with the aquarium naturalists who will explain all about the sea life that lives here. The nights are usually accompanied by a full moon and the excitement is high on this tour. The tour guides will make a glow in the dark sea creature, explain the habits of the night marine life and make it a night of learning while having fun.
