December Weather in San Diego

by Elyssa

Question: What should I pack for my kids to wear if we plan to go to the San Diego Zoo in December?

Answer: It's good to think ahead about hitting Southern California during the winter months. It's not 75 degrees ALL the time!

Nights in December can get quite cool, down in the 40s, so definitely bring a warm jacket or sweatshirt and long pants. For children, you may want to bring mittens and a hat, too.

During the day, temperatures can be warmer. If you're from a cooler climate, you'll probably be quite comfortable in a t-shirt and shorts during your visit. But warm climate dwellers could get chilly so come prepared.
