Our family really likes the Disney California Adventure park. Rides are fun, crowds tend to be smaller, and due to it's smaller size, it's more manageable to tackle if you have just one day.
If you want to take in all of the Golden State in one fell swoop, then California Adventure is the place to be. The 55-acre theme park, which is located in the city of Anaheim, is designed to resemble the diversity and richness of California from its landscapes and landmarks to its history and culture. As such, visitors will find many of the things uniquely associated with California in miniature structures at this adventure park.
There are 5 main parts of here. As can be expected from a Disney theme park, each part offers unique attractions from the shows to the rides.
Before renovations started on the theme park, the Sunshine Plaza was the main entrance to the park. It was made up of huge letters spelling out the word "California," like that of the old Hollywood sign, with a mock model of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.
With the renovation at Disney California Adventure park, all these will be replaced so that Sunshine Plaza harkenss back to 1920s Los Angeles. There will be a Red Trolley car as well as new shops and dining establishments.
The Paradise Pier is a reflection of California's famous coastal boardwalks like the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Santa Monica Pier. As such, the attractions are very similar to the classic amusement park rides in said boardwalks, with the Maliboomer and California Screamin' as notable examples. New changes are also coming the visitors' way. One of these is the transformation of the portion patterned after Route 66, which will become Cars Land come 2012.
As can be expected, the Hollywood Pictures Backlot is designed to reflect the glamour, glitz and glory of Hollywood with its boulevards and movie backlots as well television and movie-themed attractions.
Inspired by the hit movie of the same title, A Bug's Land at Disney California Adventure park features the viewpoint of the movie's main character Flik. As such, oversized human items and other foodstuffs are strategically scattered around the area. And being the child-friendly area that it is, attractions include Flik's Fun Fair, Fliks Flyers and Francis' Ladybug Boogie, to name a few.
If you and your family desire to become Californians and tour the Golden State in a few days, think no other theme park but the fantastic, fabulous and fun Disney California Adventure park!
