I always like suite hotels, so you've got a sitting area in case someone needs/wants to rest. If there's a door separating the sleeping quarters from the living room, even better!

At a minimum, a small fridge comes in handy, too, for storing your own snacks and drinks. You can even keep unfinished free breakfast items in there for later nibbling.

In-room WIFI is great to have too, to help you plan that day's activities or research the area in case your original plans go awry.
