Are you looking for Legoland discount tickets?

Let's get this out of the way right now; Legoland isn't cheap. In fact, after a recent visit, my cousin dubbed the park "Arm and a Leg-oland." However, it's easy to find deals so you don't have to pay full price for tickets, even if you decide to go last minute!

As a large family, we are always on the lookout for bargains. Considering how costly a family vacation can be, it's smart to do a little extra legwork and seek out deals and steals to help make your trip more affordable. I try and do all the planning well in advance of our trip, so I have time to purchase the most affordable tickets available.

Here's an example: last summer, we enjoyed a day at Legoland with three free children's admissions thanks to discount passes my Nana picked up at Super Cuts. That deal is no longer available, but with some research, you can frequently find bargains like that can save you a lot of cash on your trip. Legoland Ticket Prices

If you just walk up to the gate and pay for admission to Legoland, the price is going to set your bank account back a bit. Winter of 2011, current prices at the park were:

Adults (age 13-59): $72.
Child (age 3-12) or Senior (age 60+): $62.

If you want to add an additional park, like the Sea Life Aquarium or the Water Park, plan on adding another $15. Want to see all the parks? It'll run you $23 more per ticket.

So, to help out your pocketbook and keep your blood pressure pumping at a normal level, I've dug up quite a few ways for you to find helpful discounts on tickets.

Legoland Discount Tickets

Multi-day tickets are the way to go if you plan on seeing more than one park. Legoland is good for a full day, the Sea Life Aquarium can be done in a couple hours, and the water park makes a great afternoon/early evening activity. Multi-day park hopper tickets can be purchased and printed at home through Legoland.com's site.

AAA Legoland discounts are readily available. Membership into the club is affordable and more than pays off. Show your membership card at the Legoland ticket window and you'll get an easy 10% off. Also check your local AAA for special discounts.

I also really like the Legoland admission savings offered by the San Diego Go Card. Our family and friends visiting from out of town frequently grab this book of deals and squeeze in as many fun activities as they can. San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau has a coupon available for $10 off a park hopper ticket. Good through 12/31/2011. You can find it here: Legoland coupon

Costco.com often has tickets available for sale, either in-store or online. In my experience, these tickets are usually park hopper or multi-day passes, so if you just want one park/one day, you may be out of luck. More good news: you don't need to be a Costco member in order to buy online!

Ares Travel offers many good bargains on discounted tickets.

The San Diego Entertainment Book 2012 edition has a $5 off coupon. Not a huge savings, but every bit helps!

Local restaurants and stores frequently offer special coupons for discounted Legoland tickets. Check our blog for current discount ticket info.

Annual Membership to Legoland

Purchasing a membership to Legoland can make monetary sense, especially if you live within driving distance of the park. One of my favorite aspects of having a theme park membership is that I don't feel obligated to spend an entire day there, in order to get the most "bang for my buck." Instead, I can take the kids for a couple hours or so, knowing that we can easily come back whenever we want.

Legoland has several membership packages available:

Standard: The cheapest pass available, you get unlimited admission to Legoland, plus some special discounts.
PLUS members, in addition to the above, also get free parking (at $12 a pop, that's a big savings right there!), dining and retail discounts, plus the Legoland newsletter and Club magazine.
Resort membership gets you all of the above, PLUS admission to Sea Life Aquarium and Water Park free, and additional member benefits. As resort members, we've also received free Legoland tickets to use with friends and family several times per year.
Model Mom Members have limited use of the park (admission on Thursdays only to both Legoland and Sea Life Aquarium) and your children must be under four, but this is a great way to enjoy what the park has to offer with other parents of toddlers!
