The recently unveiled Legoland Water Park won't open until June 2010, but excitement is already high. Thanks to six straight years of rising attendance to the Carlsbad theme park, even during a downturn in the economy, Legoland executives see the value in adding a water park to their site.
The park will be 5.5 acres and cost approximately $15 million to build. Highlights will be:
Plans for the water park, coupled with Legoland's successful Sea Life Aquarium, and news of a Lego-themed hotel in the works, shows that Legoland is gearing up to become a destination resort, much like Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
