San Diego Airport

Quick Airport Info

Find out more information about the San Diego Airport at Airport Information.

Whether coming into the city of San Diego, or going out, if you’re traveling by plane you’re going to get a chance to see the amazing San Diego International Airport. Founded in 1928, it is currently the 30th busiest airport in the nation, and employees nearly 5,000 people in total. The airport sits on 661 acres of land, and was the first airport in the country to issue restrictions on late night and early morning flights. Currently, no flights are allowed to leave the airport from 11:30 p.m. through 6:30 a.m.

Many car rental agencies are conveniently located at Lindbergh Field. You can find information about renting a car at the airport here.

There are several ways to get to, and around the airport. If you’re not going to drive yourself to the airport, you can take one of several mass transits to the terminals. From buses, to trolleys, to taxi services, you’ll find it much easier getting to where you need to go. There are also terminal to terminal travel services, as well as shuttle services. If you want, you can even have a limo pick you up at curbside.

As you wait for your flight, you can enjoy some of the live arts and entertainment available throughout the airport. See exhibits of pottery, modern art, Japanese gardens and much more. Each exhibit is showcased in various terminals for up to 6 months at a time. The airport also offers free jazz music on the second Friday of each month, and solo artists on the fourth Friday of each month.

You can also enjoy other activities while waiting, such as dining and shopping. The airport sports more than 30 different eateries throughout the many terminals, as well as a wide array of little shops to pick up a few souvenirs to take with you. For a more relaxing environment, there are four lounges where you can enjoy a bit of piece and quiet before or after your flight.
