How to Find Affordable San Diego Zoo Coupons

Are you looking for San Diego Zoo coupons?

As a mom to four kids, I'm always keeping my eyes out for great deals. When you add in the cost of admission, plus a meal out, parking and things like snacks and the occasional gift store toy your children just have to have, it all adds up. Fast. Anything that saves us money is a good thing, so I've learned to become pretty good about researching the internet for the best deal possible.

There are a number of ways you can find San Diego zoo coupons and get a great bargain.

Here are some of the ways I've discovered through my research:

  • My number one tip: start looking EARLY for good Zoo deals. There's nothing like trying to find last minute discounts to stress you out right before a trip. You can sometimes get lucky, but without time to really research and dig for a good find, you'll likely feel disappointed by your savings.
  • Costco sometimes has discount tickets available in-store or on their web site. Not a member? Don't worry; you don't need to be to purchase tickets online.
  • Are you a AAA member? Check with your local office or online to see if a discount is available. You may also receive savings on food or merchandise while at the Zoo.
  • The 2011 Entertainment Book in most Southern California versions includes a coupon for discounted admission.
  • Free classified sites like Backpage.com and Craigslist.org often have listings for San Diego Zoo coupons. I have purchased things from Craigslist before, but have not taken the leap into buying theme park tickets. I prefer to get tickets right in the mail or printed on my computer, so schlepping somewhere in the County to pick up tickets doesn't interest me. Does that make me lazy? I prefer to think I'm maximizing my time!
  • Active military (both US and foreign) receive a complimentary 1-day pass to the Zoo just by showing their military ID card. Dependents also receive a 10% discount on admission. Check your local MWR for discount tickets, too.
  • Kids are free at the Zoo during October. Kids must be between 3 and 11 and accompanied by a paying adult.
  • san diego zoo couponsFor Zoo discounts, I also really like the savings offered by the Go San Diego Card. When family and friends visit from out of town, they'll often pick up this book of deals and fit in as many fun activities as they can. If you're a local, it can also be a fun way to "tour" San Diego and see some of the sights you haven't enjoyed in awhile!
  • Southern California residents should take advantage of the annual memberships offered by the Zoo. Not only do you get access to the Zoo, but you also receive membership to the San Diego Safari Park, aka Wild Animal Park for us old-timers! Not a local? Memberships are available to non-residents for a higher price, but you may find it worth the price. In addition to park entry, you also get free guest passes, discount coupons, free or discounted tours, and more. This is a package definitely worth a look. You can find more at the Zoo membership information page.
